Jonathon Lee is a singer and actor who auditioned to become a member of the British pop group S Club 7. With their launch In April of 1999, S Club 7 rose to fame via their own BBC television show “Miami 7”. In the years that followed, they became a BRIT award-winning act, recording four multi-platinum albums and notching up several #1 singles. In April of 2003, S Club announced their separation and released a Greatest Hits collection in June of 2003.
Immediately following S Club’s split, Jon went straight to the West End where he starred in “Les Misérables”. In the years that followed, Jon took a role in Love Shack (2004), Teen Scream (2006), Tomorrow Morning (2010), and Jersey Boys (2010). Jon also starred in various Pantomime performances including ‘Cinderella’ (2010) and ‘Aladdin’ (2012). Jon was no stranger to the small screen as he had various cameo appearances in shows such as Casualty, and ‘The Sound of Musicals‘.
In November 2014, Jon joined members of S Club 7 for their first reunion tour which ended in June 2015. In 2016, Jon was cast in ‘Forever Plaid’ and in 2017 appeared in West End Proms. In 2017, Jon participated in a Girls Aloud tribute band alongside Gareth Gates. Duncan James, Ritchie Neville, and Ben Ofoedu for ‘Let’s Sing & Dance” for Comic Relief. In 2018, Jon made an appearance on ‘Celebrity Dinner Date.
In the years that followed, Jon took a step back from the public eye and travelled to India where he lived for several years. Jon re-emerged in February of 2023, to partake in the 25th anniversary of the S Club 7 reunion, which was renamed ‘Good Times‘ in honour of Paul Cattermole, who tragically passed away in 2023.
