Ivorian Doll, aka Vanessa Mahi is a rapper and social media sensation from London. She's become one of the very few female artists to take over the UK’s drill scene. Before she began her music career she had an incredibly successful YouTube channel which has had over 60 million views.
She released her debut single, 'The Situation' in 2019 which was a collaboration with fellow rapper Abigail Asante. In 2020 she released her breakout track 'Rumours' which went viral for its unapologetic lyrics, and the music video has had 9.1 million views to date, cementing her place as a strong female rapper. Later that year she was nominated for 'Best Newcomer' at the 2020 MOBO Awards. She was also named by The Guardian newspaper as Drill music’s first female star.
Ivorian Doll has since gone on to release 11 successful solo singles and has featured on tracks with many other artists including Kamille and Iggy Azalea. IVD has performed at Wireless, Parklife and Reading festivals as well as others worldwide. She's not only shown her personality through her music, but has worked with BBC Radio 1 Xtra on her own show entitled 'Welcome to Hackney with Ivorian Doll' and has made guest appearances on 'MIST'DRIVEN' on Channel 4.0 and 'PRESSED' on the BBC, as well as multiple podcasts. She is also an outspoken advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and gender equality.
Ivorian Doll wants to be the bridge that connects the UK and US drill scenes, and it’s unlikely that her abrasive, in-your-face attitude will fly under the radar anytime soon. Not a lot of female drill artists have been able to take their music globally, but it wouldn’t be the first time Ivorian Doll was a pioneer. She has become such a popular figure in the music world and beyond with her undeniable talent and unique style, she is a force to be reckoned with.
In 2024 The Grammy's named her as one of ten artists changing the face of drill music. IVD appeared on series 3 of Celebrity Ex On The Beach which aired on MTV and Paramount Plus. On top of television work she performed at Wireless Festival in London with Nicki Minaj.
